Terms and Conditions

Updated June 2019

Registration

Clients are required to provide adequate contact details.  This will enable me to communicate with you effectively. I will ask you to provide me with your postal address, e-mail, landline and mobile numbers.  I will only use these to contact you with regard to tuition and I never pass them on to someone else unless you request for me to do so.  I will also ask you about any relevant health or SEN information. Please ensure that you inform me if any details change during the academic year.

Payment

Term time lessons  – Students are expected to attend each week during their allocated session during term time unless I have informed you that there will be no tuition that week. Term time is based on Hampshire County Council school terms.

Lessons during school holidays – these can be arranged for Year 11 students during the Easter and summer half term holidays and subject to availability and should be booked and paid for at the time of booking.  Please only book holiday sessions that you intend to attend.

Lessons should be paid for in full by BACS , cash or cheque on the day of the lesson.   The account details, for BACS purposes will be provided to clients.

Cancellation Policy

I require 48 hours notice of cancellations unless students suddenly become too unwell to attend or are infectious. If insufficient notice is given or if a student does not show to a lesson without notice then full fees are due. Tutoring requires a degree of commitment and if a student is not attending regularly then I may request a conversation with the client to request termination of the lessons.

Termination Policy

If you wish to terminate your regular tuition sessions, then I require two weeks notice.

Students taking GCSE exams will only be expected to attend up to the date of the last maths exam (unless you wish to continue until the last exam – please do inform me if this is the case).

Time Keeping

Unless otherwise arranged, all lessons are one hour in duration.  Clients are responsible for arriving for tuition on time, and lessons will end at the designated time to enable the next student to have their full lesson.  If you wish to speak to me, in detail, about your child’s progress then please do this during the first few minutes or the last few minutes of their lesson.

Behaviour

Parents are responsible for ensuring that their children know how to behave well.  I reserve the right to cancel any bookings for students whose behaviour is unacceptable.

Student progress feedback

If your child has face-to-face tuition, I regularly give feedback, to the parent collecting the student, at the end of each lesson upon collection.  I do not provide written progress reports.

Special requests

I reserve the right to charge for special requests.  See Fees page.
