So much of Islamic art is so wonderfully geometrical and truly beautiful. The mathematical constructions behind them are complex. This artwork is constructed using a compass and a straight edge only. No protractors or measuring!
You can find inspiration at the V&A Museum.
I was introduced to this art form by Clarissa Grandi who runs online courses. You can find ideas for all sorts of mathematical art at Artful Maths. I’ve also been learning from the patterns recreated by Samira Mian. I have so much more to learn!
